The size of inner Paris

The vast Salins du Midi estate in Aigues-Mortes extends over some 20 acres (8 ha) in the Gard department, more or less the size of inner Paris. The Salins du Midi and their unique environment are accessible to visits by car, mini-train, mountain bike, or even on foot. The route of the visit extends over some 18.6 miles (30 km) through the basins and the mountains of salt. The saltworks of Aigues-Mortes cover 11.18 miles (18 km ) from North to South and 8.08 miles (13 km) from East to West.
