The Eiffel Tower has recently grown by 6 metres to a record height of 330 metres thanks to the addition of a new radio antenna. Installed by helicopter on 15 March 2022 at the dizzying height of 324 metres by technicians from TDF (Télédiffusion de France), this antenna is intended to broadcast DAB+ digital radio. The Eiffel Tower thus continues to embody boldness and technical progress, as it has always done since its inauguration in 1889. A pioneer in the field of communication, the Eiffel Tower was the site of the first radio station created in France (Radio Tour Eiffel) in 1921, which set up its studios in the north pillar.
