From the platform of the American Cemetery of Colleville-sur-Mer, we discover the shimmering basin (symbolic of the beach), covered with a few groups of water lilies, behind which stand two flag poles and the squares of the graves extend, with the chapel located just at the intersection of the main aisles. Inside the chapel, French, American, British and Canadian flags frame the altar on which are engraved : I give them eternal life and they will never perish. This altar is surmounted by a stained glass window adorned with stars, symbols of the USA, as well as the Star of David in its center.
