The Saint-Nicolas bridge in Joigny

0
The Saint-Nicolas bridge was the first bridge built over the Yonne river. It bears the name of the patron saint of mariners. Over the centuries, its wooden architecture has been solidified by stone arches. In the 16th century, houses were located on the bridge, but after several fires it became a road axis which connects the old town to the left bank of Joigny.
