The reintroduction of a protected species

Franck Bonin, the veterinarian and director of the Tortoise Village of Carnoules, and his assistant manager Stéphane Gagno are releasing a Hermann's tortoise in its original natural habitat after its stay at the SOPTOM care center. This protected species is listed as critically endangered on the Regional Red List of Amphibians and Reptiles, a local version of the IUCN national and international lists. Taking a Hermann's tortoise from its original environment or reintroducing it there, therefore, proceed from an approach supervised by health, veterinary and scientific measures validated by the State.
