The regained elegance of a remarkable house

Open to visitors in 2021, the Villa du Temps Retrouvé is one of the remarkable houses of the Remarkable Heritage Site process, which has protected the historic heart of Cabourg since 2018. Its interior spaces have been restructured and fitted out according to a scenography combining visual, sound, musical, digital, and olfactory atmospheres to restore the ambiance of period rooms of the Belle Epoque. The house has regained all of its elegance through the restoration of its original south facade and the contemporary treatment of the added north and west ones. The Villa du Temps Retrouvé is surrounded by three sets of gardens. The front garden comprising a greenhouse winter garden and a space evoking Marcel Proust's herbarium constitutes a transition between the house and the outside. It is completed by a more intimate rear garden and a paved passageway covered with a pergola.
