The Red House Of Chichanchoob

Its name is derived from the fragments of red paint that were found inside. Means small holes and alludes to its lime roofcomb. The structure is comprised of an antechamber, 3 rooms and has a sculptured hieroglyphic inscription in the main chamber. The fayade is smooth with 2 roofcombs which bring to mind the late Puuc style of the terminal Classic period. It must have had a religous/public use, since there is a Ball Court joined to its eastern side, with basreliefs in the Maya-Toltec style.
