The ranges of wine produced at the Fontfroide Abbey

The Benedictine monks of Fontfroide planted the first vine at the same time as the first stone of the abbey when it was founded in 1093. The life of an abbey is inseparable from the cultivation of the vine. It provides the wine necessary for religious celebrations. The exploitation today extends practically on 45 hectares and operates in a short circuit. It offers three ranges of wine: the Via Hominis, Ocellus, and Deo Gratias range. The latter is the flagship of the varieties produced at the abbey.
