The 'Pic du Canigou', over the Pyrenees

The ‘Pic du Canigou’ (or Canigò) is located on the border between France and Spain. It dominates the Eastern Pyrenees and can be admired from the Leucate pond. The Canigou, also known as the sacred mountain of the Catalans, has been classified as a Great Site of France since 2012. A paradise for hiking lovers, the peak can be discovered along its 466 miles (750 km) of marked trails. From the top of the 9,133 feet (2784 m) altitude of this summit, the view over French Catalonia and the Mediterranean Sea is breathtaking.
