The Lascaris Palace of Castellar in the Alpes-Maritimes department hosts a permanent exhibition dedicated to the Pendimoun shelter located at the foot of the Orméa rock on the village's territory. The museum displays the results of the excavations carried out since 1955 on this prehistoric site of international importance by professors Louis Barral and Didier Binder. Occupied for nearly 10,000 years and mostly between 8,000 and 2,500 BC, the Pendimoun shelter has revealed graves dating from 5,500 BC. A cast of the skeleton of the man of Castellar, which was exhumed there, is also visible in the museum.
