Contrary to what one might think, the name of the Hérisson (hedgehog) Waterfalls does not come from the animal... but from the Celtic name Yrisson which means sacred waters. Shaped by water, the valley is made up of seven waterfalls which take their source in the lakes of Ilay and Bonlieu.
