The origin of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin

After the Wall Street crisis of 1929, wine sales fell in France. The fame of Clos de Vougeot is at its lowest. To restore it to its former glory, two winegrowers, Georges Faiveley and Camille Rodier, created the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin in 1934. It aims to promote Burgundy wine culture through gatherings including Tastevinages. This event elects each year the best wines from the Burgundy region.
