Opened in 1997, the Christian Dior Museum in Granville is the only labeled “Museum of France” exclusively devoted to a couturier. In the hushed atmosphere of the Les Rhumbs villa and the festive one of the seaside resort, Dior found inspiration to create conventional or glamorous dresses as soon as 1947. His perfumes used roses and lilies of the valley very present in his Granville's garden. More than 50 dress models bear the name of a rose in homage to his mother Madeleine.
