In the ancient period, wood was the main material used by Man (source of energy, construction material for weapons). According to a latest study, the olive tree would be the first fruit tree to have been domesticated. Claimed researchers have studied coal remains found in the Jordan Valley (Middle East) dating back 7,000 years. According to their conclusions, this wood came from olive branches and suggested the hypothesis that the olive tree would be the first tree domesticated by man.
