The noseband of the horse

0
A noseband is a strap, usually made of leather, which surrounds the nose and jaw of some animals to allow humans to better control them and to prevent them from opening their mouth too much. It is mainly used as an optional part of the net to prevent horses from escaping the bit when their driver operates the reins to steer them. It differs from the muzzle which encloses the entire jaw of an animal - mainly a dog - to prevent it from biting.
