The new Unterlinden museum

Cleared from the museum structures of the 1980's, the rooms have regained a state similar to that of the past. The architects Jacques Herzog & Pierre de Meuron have redesigned Unterlinden Square as in the days when the stables and farmhouse formed opposite the convent, a complex called Ackerhof. The basement has also been fitted out to accommodate archaeological collections dating from the Romans among others. The old baths have become a room dedicated to temporary exhibitions. In short, the Museum has a fantastic new look at the service of 7000 years of history.
