The City of Paris has fourteen museums managed since 2013 by the public institution Paris Musées. Access to their permanent collections is completely free, every day of the year. Built for the 1900 World Fair by architect Charles Girault, the Petit Palais became the Musée des Beaux-arts de la Ville de Paris in 1902. The museum’s vocation has always been to showcase Parisian artists, but numerous donations from collectors have enriched its collection with paintings by prestigious artists (Ingres, Géricault, Delacroix, Cézanne).
