The mouth of the Loup
1
0
This aerial photo shows us the mouth of the Loup, a coastal river of the Alpes-Maritimes department which originates in the pre-Alps of Grasse and flows – 30 miles (49.3 km) further and 3,937 feet (1,200 m) below - into the Mediterranean sea between Villeneuve-Loubet and Cagnes-sur-Mer. The river now separates the 'Bouches du Loup' beach, visible on the left of the photo, from the 'Hippodrome de la Côte d'Azur', on the right. Formerly, it served as an eastern border between the Ligurian people of the Deciates and their Néruses neighbors.
