Located off the Atlantic coast of Martinique in the Baie du François, Oscar islet comes from the submarine volcanic chain of Vauclin-Pitault dated to the Middle Miocene. This uninhabited islet with an area of 8.65 acres (3.5 ha) culminates at 65.6 ft (20 m) above sea level. It is served by two pontoons that allow reaching its various constructions - a 19th-century colonial wooden house moved from Thierry islet in 1935, a late 18th-century lime kiln, and an Amerindian habitat - partially listed in the inventory of Historical Monuments since 2004. Its approximately two hundred daily visitors make Oscar islet close to the white bottoms of the Baignoire de Joséphine the most frequented islet of Le François islets.
