The plans of a famous Corsican tower are part of the British Museum collections in London, under the name Martello tower. It is actually the tower of La Mortella which is built on the Agriate coast in Corsica. These drawings were commissioned in the 18th century by the English. They were impressed by the resistance of the fortification to their assaults.
