The Mont Ventoux radome
0
0
The western ridge of Mont Ventoux bears a radome - a term combining the notions of radar and dome - installed in 1995 by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation. Aiming to protect an antenna from bad weather while concealing its orientation, this dome-shaped shelter houses a radar that ensures the security of the airspace along with nineteen other stations. It appears clearly on the left of this photo, on the crest line of Mont Ventoux.
