The Meridien of Love

At 13 ft (4 m) in height, Cabourg is bordered by a dike that extends to Merville-Franceville. Over 2.23 miles (3.6 km), it offers a privileged view of the Côte Fleurie (Flowered Coast) and constitutes one of the longest pedestrian walks in Europe. Built in 1912, it pays homage to Marcel Proust and, through him, wishes to be the Meridien of Love. Markers adapt it in all languages, and, over 1.73 miles (2.8 km), mosaic hallmarks evoke it in the manner of Hollywood Boulevard's Walk of Fame.
