The memory of the ocher industry is perpetuated by the Conservatory of Ocher and Applied Pigments installed in the former Mathieu factory of Roussillon in the Vaucluse department. Visitors can relive the different stages of the treatment of the raw material (sand removal, settling, drying, cutting, cooking, crushing, filtering, and conditioning) and discover the tools (cofferdams, resting places, ovens, millstones, etc.) and techniques used.
