The Maritime History Museum of Saint-Tropez has been housed in the keep of the city's citadel since 2013. Over two floors, it recounts the characteristics and development of the various maritime activities, both local and national, from artisanal fishing to the navy, including cabotage and transoceanic links. The spaces of the keep's ground floor are dedicated to the history of the sea, its legends, and economy, highlighting the port of Saint-Tropez and its shipyards. The first floor gives pride of place to the great figures of Saint-Tropez maritime history such as Pierre André de Suffren (1729-1788), Hippolyte de Bouchard (1780-1837), or General Jean-François Allard (1785-1839).
