The first step in the creation of Laguiole knives is the manufacture of spare parts. It is during this stage that the pieces that will be part of the final composition of the knife begin to stand out. These elements are cut using manual cutters from molds to the shape of the parts. It is thanks to this first step that the bolsters, bees, springs, and first draft of the blades are crafted. However, this is only a small fraction of artisanal manufacturing that can require more than 200 operations.
