The Lot Department Geological Nature Reserve

Since June 2015, the 3089 sq. mi (800 ha) that spread over 20 municipalities to the south of the Causses du Quercy Regional Natural Park are classified as a geological nature reserve. It was decreed by the Ministry of Ecology and Sustainable Development. The reserve's primary mission is to preserve and restore the heritage of the territory as much as possible. It is done through monitoring, developing, and restoring sites such as the Cloup d'Aural phosphate mines. Featured: Thierry Pelissié, curator of the Lot Geological Nature Reserve.
