The lobster goes out at night to feed

The coloring of the painted spiny lobster varies from one individual to another but is constant in the same adult individual, much like human fingerprints. Nocturnal and rather solitary, it remains hidden during the day in holes, crevices or under coral blocks. It goes out at night to feed on dead animals, molluscs, tubeworms or small fish. To escape, it propels itself backwards by folding its tail under its abdomen.
