Saint-Lazarus Chapel in Gorbio in the Alpes-Maritimes department is a typical example of a limit-chapel. Based on a settlement model frequent in the hinterland of Nice, it was indeed built at the exact spot where the mule track leading to the village emerges from the valley and comes within sight of the locality. This situation makes it the first monument of the historical, cultural, and religious heritage of Gorbio to be discovered by the numerous hikers.
