The last astronaut on the Moon

The Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace (Air and Space Museum) has a replica of the A7-LB spacesuit worn by Eugene Cernan, the commander of the Apollo 17 mission (7-19 December 1972), in the Space Exploration Hall. The suit was modified in the pelvis so that the astronauts could sit in the rover driven on the Moon. The red stripes on the sleeves were reserved for the Apollo mission commanders (from Apollo 13 onwards). Gene Cernan made three spacewalks lasting a total of 22 hours and 4 minutes and collected 110 kg of lunar rocks. He was the last man to set foot on the Moon.
