At the foot of the buttresses that support the choir of the abbey church, the view is spectacular. Below, the village and the tourists seem tiny. Above, pinnacles on which gulls nest, next to gothic sculptures and gargoyles. The luckiest visitors will be able to take the lace staircase, a unique passageway built over a flying buttress, to reach the abbey’s bell tower. Its finely carved granite banisters are in the pure radiant gothic style. At a height of 110 metres above the sea, it is like daring to be on a par with angels.
