The Juno Beach Center in Courseulles-sur-Mer is a cultural center and a place of memory dedicated to the 45,000 Canadians who lost their lives during World War II. Around 5,500 of them fell during the Battle of Normandy and 359 on D-Day. The center was founded in 2003 by veterans and volunteers. It aims to pay tribute to the deceased and teach about the civil and military war effort of the Canadian population, on all fronts, during the Second World War.
