Kate is 83 years old. She is one of 40,000 Inuit who live in the Canadian Arctic. She was born and raised in a family of hunters and fishermen – like much of this population. Previously known as Eskimos, the native people have been known as Inuit since the first Inter Inuit conference in 1977.
