Serre-Ponçon lake, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, is a place of concentration of seabirds since there are more than one thousand individuals during the countings carried out annually. Many of them being northern birds which come to spend the winter in open water areas, their population widely varies depending on the temperature and climatic conditions.
