The imperial Kaiser's room

0
The Kaiser's room evokes the recent history of the Haut-Koenigsbourg castle. It demonstrates the imperial ambitions of Wilhelm II and his medieval nostalgia concerning Alsace. The room was fitted out when it was restored in 1900 by Leo Schnug. Several elements indicate that no such space existed before. It is crumbling under the gilding to the glory of the Kaiser and his family. Wall frescoes represent medieval battles and jousting. An imperial eagle spread its majestic and powerful wings on the ceiling.
