Some of Haut-Kœnigsbourg castle's rooms are furnished like typical medieval fortresses. Inside the hunting trophies' hall stands, for example, a green earthenware kokelhof recovered from the ruins during the renovation. It is a typical Alsatian tiled stove decorated with coats of arms. The Thierstein family occupied the castle from 1479 and actively participated in its enlargements and modernization. Its coat of arms is painted on the walls of the room alongside deer antlers and floral motifs.
