Rouen (formerly Ratumacos) is the capital and administrative center of the Normandy region, reunified in 2015. It was the capital of the Duchy of Normandy from 911 to 1204 until King Philippe Auguste took it. The whole region became English again in 1419, with the exception of Mont-Saint-Michel. It was in Rouen, once again the capital of the English power, that Joan of Arc was judged and burned in 1431. In 1885, the pieces of the Statue of Liberty were shipped from the city's port.
