The North peak of Font Sancte is the highest point of the Queyras massif at 11,105 ft (3,385 m) of altitude. It dominates the South peak, its counterpart, by 46 ft (14 m). These two summits located between the upper Ubaye valley, Val d'Escreins, and Ceillac valley owe their name to a spring, the Font Sancte, which gushes 7,736 ft (2,358 m) above sea level. The maximum slope of the North peak is around 40° and passes through a corridor to the west that mountaineers and experienced hikers can use. Another route starts from Lake Sainte-Anne on the north face. As for the Tour de la Font Sancte long-distance hiking trail, it traces a loop in the area of the two peaks.
