The highest point in the Maures massif

The Massif des Maures and its large expanses of forest are dominated by a radio and television relay antenna that allows a more precise localization. It indeed marks the summit of Notre-Dame-des-Anges, the highest point of the massif at 2,559 ft (780 m) above sea level, which carries a 164 ft (50 m) high antenna visible from a distance. Next to the antenna is the sanctuary of Notre-Dame-des-Anges. Made up of a chapel and a small cloistered convent, it is part of the locality of Pignans located a few kilometers from Carnoules and Gonfaron in the Var department. The GR9, which runs through the village, allows hikers to reach the top of Notre-Dame-des-Anges as well as the ridges' route of the Massif des Maures.
