The highest house in Alsace

Riquewihr reveals exceptional houses of various half-timberings. Among them, the Jung-Selig house spreads out its five floors in the main street. Its width is due to the union of two buildings in 1561. The one on the left is larger than the other, and the central post of the dwelling is displaced from the ridge of the roof. The corner has been cut on the right to allow the carts to turn in the lane. The numerous X's on the facade of the house indicate that its owner was a notorious person in the city.
