Haute-Normandie (Upper-Normandy) alone accounts for 50% of quality textile flax production in the world. Its temperate and humid oceanic climate, low thermal amplitude, and rich and deep soil are particularly conducive to its cultivation. The Terre de Lin cooperative, which operates in Saint-Pierre-le-Viger in the Seine-Maritime department and benefits from this unique terroir, is responsible for 15% of the international flax production and is a major stakeholder upstream in the textile flax industry.
