Located inland, without opening to the sea, the Vaucluse department is considered the heart of the Provence of yesteryear by its climate with exceptional sunshine and its unspoiled natural spaces as well as the richness of its heritage and traditions. Against a backdrop of plains cultivated with orchards, vineyards, and lavender and lush green landforms, it is peppered by hilltop villages.
