The Hall of the Eight Columns

On 15 November 1937, President of the Republic Albert Lebrun inaugurated the new terminal building at Le Bourget airport, designed by the architect Georges Labro in the purest Art Deco style. In 1975, the collections of the Air Museum (renamed the Air and Space Museum in 1983) were transferred there. Recently renovated, the Eight Columns Room has regained the brilliance of its glass roof, its black and white checkerboard floor and its fluted columns. The small clocks that form the numerals of the monumental clock made by Bell & Ross indicate the main city of each of the twelve time zones.
