The grey fantail (Rhipidura albiscapa) is a small passerine bird from mainland Australia and Melanesia, regularly present in New Caledonia on Grande-Terre and the Isle of Pines and occasionally on Lifou. Not very shy, it frequents all the areas where it can find trees and bushes, from the dense tropical forests to the dry and little wooded savannahs, including the edge areas, parks and gardens.
