Based in Saint-Pierre-le-Viger in the Seine-Maritime department, Terre de Lin transforms its production of straw into scutched linen and tow. The cooperative carries out a second transformation of combed linen fibers. Flax is not used in the textile industry only and also serves in stationery, insulation, and the automotive and composite industries. Flax seeds are used in cooking for the preparation of bread, cakes, or cookies. In Normandy, many local and artisanal products are made from linen, considered the green gold of a region responsible for 50% of the international production of linen fibers.
