The glass crazing process

Glass crazing is a deliberate decorating technique that gives the final glass a cracked surface appearance similar to frost or frozen water well rendered by the English term ice-glass. To obtain this effect, the parison - the calibrated mass of molten glass intended to be shaped - of still soft glass must be immersed in cold water during blowing. This process creates a network of cracks that enlarges during the successive reheating and blowing operations.
