The Galetas Bridge

The Galetas Bridge, in the foreground of this photo, is crossed by the D957, or Route des Salles, upstream from Lake Sainte Croix. Located between Aiguines and Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, it forms the junction between the departments of Var and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and spans the Verdon at the exit of the gorges in a postcard setting with the gorges on one side and the lake of Sainte Croix on the other. It replaces the Aiguines Bridge, a 410 feet (125 meters) long and 9.8 feet (3 meters) wide road bridge with seven arches, which was flooded during the impoundment of Sainte-Croix dam.
