The Galas aqueduct bridge

The Galas aqueduct bridge is implanted in the locality of La Beaume in the municipality of Fontaine-de-Vaucluse. It was designed by the Ponts et Chaussées engineers Conté, Perrier, Masselin and Gendarme and built between 1854 and 1857 above the Sorgue river. Five hundred and five ft (154 m) long and more than 78 ft (24 m) high, it is made up of thirteen semicircular arches with an opening of 29.5 ft (9 m).
