The furniture of Saint-Pierre Church

The neoclassical Saint-Pierre parish church of Castellar was redeveloped in 1867 and restored after the 1887 earthquake. The disaster destroyed the outer Saint-Jean-Baptiste chapel, the former funeral chapel of the Counts of Lascaris. The church's current furnishings include, in particular, canvases of the baptism of Christ from the end of the 17th century and of Saint Francis receiving the stigmata from the 18th century. In the Saint-Etienne side chapel, near the porch, lies a recumbent statue of Christ in carved wood from the 18th century.
