Nîmes is a city in the Gard department whose foundation dates back to Antiquity. This distant past today offers many vestiges of the Roman era. Monuments such as the Arènes de Nîmes, the Maison Carrée, or the Tour Magne participate in the reputation of the French Rome. Located a few dozen miles from the Mediterranean Sea and the Cévennes chain, Nîmes houses more than 155,000 inhabitants.
