The current Croix de Provence is the fourth successive cross to rise on the western end of the ridgeline of the Sainte-Victoire mountain in the Bouches-du-Rhône department. Its two parts consist of a 26-feet high (8 m) iron cross and a 32.8-feet high (10 m) stone plinth that supports it. It, therefore, forms a monument rising 59 ft (18 m) above the relief and standing out distinctly on the horizon.
